Why
AfterMyLife
exists
We believe that what people leave behind should be easier to understand,
safer to protect, and more meaningful to transmit.

A personal beginning
From the founder
Fulvio Di Stefano
AfterMyLife was born from a deeply personal concern.
Whenever I travelled, I found myself thinking about what would happen if I died unexpectedly. Not only to my family, but also to everything and everyone that depended on me.
I had built Autopareri, the leading automotive community in Italy, and I could not ignore a difficult thought: if I disappeared, years of passionate discussions, shared knowledge, responsibility, relationships and value could be left unresolved or simply fade away.
I was also thinking about my digital agency, Internet Diffusion, and what it would mean to leave clients without continuity, guidance or access to the right information when it mattered most.
But beyond work, there was something even more important. My wife. My family. The people closest to me. I kept thinking about what it would mean to leave without a final message — something intimate, personal and truly mine.
That reflection became the starting point for AfterMyLife.
I wanted to create the platform I personally needed: a place where what matters most can be prepared, protected and passed on with clarity, dignity and intention.
In many ways, I want to be the first client of this platform.
01 · The wider problem
The problem is bigger than documents
When someone dies, what remains is rarely limited to paperwork.
Families and trusted people may face practical confusion, unclear wishes, missing references, emotional uncertainty, and information that is scattered across devices, memory, and silence.
What makes these moments difficult is not only grief. It is also the absence of structure. A document can exist without making clear why it matters, and a wish can be remembered without being understood in the moment it is needed.
“A life is more than what can be listed. But a list can still be a kindness.”
02 · The response
A more thoughtful response
AfterMyLife was imagined as a more human and structured way to prepare for what comes after death.
“Preparation should hold both the practical and the personal.”
AfterMyLife was imagined as a more human and more structured way to prepare for what comes after death. Not only digitally. Not only administratively. But more broadly, around what should be protected, understood, and passed on with intention.
The answer is not to reduce a life to a checklist. It is to create a place where important information can sit alongside personal meaning, structured enough to be useful and human enough to reflect the life behind it.
03 · Our principles
Our approach
We believe this kind of preparation should feel calm, clear, and trustworthy.
Calm design
Difficult subjects deserve an experience that creates room to think, not pressure to act.
Privacy
Personal preparation should respect privacy and reduce unnecessary exposure.
Intentionality
The structure should help people act with intention rather than urgency.
Trust
Trust is earned through clear choices, honest limits, and responsible handling of sensitive information.
Privacy
Personal preparation should respect privacy and reduce unnecessary exposure.
04 · The moment
Why now
Modern life creates more complexity than ever. Important information is spread across systems, relationships, documents, devices, and habits. Yet very little of it is prepared in a way that truly helps others later.
Important information is spread across systems, relationships, documents, devices, and habits. A home may depend on knowledge that has never been written down. A business may rely on understanding held by one person. A family may be spread across countries and time zones.
The gap is growing. So is the need for a better answer. Conversations, legal documents, and trusted relationships still matter, but they no longer cover the whole picture on their own.
01
More information is distributed across more places.
02
More responsibilities depend on informal knowledge.
03
More families need context that can travel with them.
04
More people want to prepare without turning life into administration.
05 · The mission
What we want to make possible
We want to make it easier for people to leave behind more than disorder, silence, or guesswork.
“Leave behind more than information. Leave behind a way to understand it.”
We want to create room for greater clarity, better protection, and more thoughtful continuity. We want it to be easier for families to find more than fragments, and for trusted people to understand what should be carried forward.
AfterMyLife is being built patiently because a service like this should earn its place in people’s lives. Its measure is not how much it collects, but whether it helps the right people feel less lost, less blocked, and more able to carry something forward.
Begin with care
A more thoughtful way to prepare what comes after.
Create room for greater clarity, better protection, and more thoughtful continuity.
