How it Works
A clear
process for
something
sensitive.
AfterMyLife helps you prepare what matters in a way that is thoughtful, structured, and easier to understand later.

The intention
Preparation with clarity and care
Preparing for what comes after death can feel difficult, emotional, and complex. For many people, the challenge is not only deciding what matters, but also knowing where to begin.
AfterMyLife is designed to make that process more understandable and more intentional. The goal is not to turn something deeply human into a cold administrative exercise. It is to create more clarity where there might otherwise be confusion.
You do not need to complete everything at once. A thoughtful process can begin with one detail, one wish, or one question, then become clearer over time.
Beyond personal memories and messages, structured continuity can also help reduce uncertainty around practical, administrative and financial matters.
“Start wherever the meaning feels clearest. Let the structure follow.”
The intention
How to prepare
01
Gather what matters
02
Structure what should be understood
03
Decide what should happen
04
Keep everything more intentional over time
05
Leave behind more clarity
Before you explore the platform
Three roles, one
protected process
AfterMyLife is built around a simple but carefully controlled structure. One person prepares what matters. Trusted people may later receive what has been intended for them. And no transmission moves forward without safeguards.
01
Owner
The owner is the person who subscribes
to the platform, prepares their secure
space, uploads documents, writes
messages, and decides who should
receive what. The owner can designate
both recipients and certifiers.
02
Certifier
A certifier is a trusted person chosen by
the owner. This person may receive
content intended for them, but can also
report the owner’s death by submitting a
death certificate through the platform.
03
Recipient
A recipient is a person designated to
receive content prepared by the owner
after death. Their role is limited to
receiving what has been intentionally
assigned to them.
One person can hold more than one role
A user may be an owner for their own account, while also acting as a certifier
or recipient for someone else who invited them. The role selector in the
administration header makes it possible to switch between these roles when
relevant.
In the administration header
Manual verification before any transfer
No death report triggers an automatic release. Every report is reviewed and validated manually before any transmission can take place. This safeguard helps protect against false declarations and ensures that sensitive information is not released without human control.
The process at a glance
From preparation to transmission
Six steps, and nothing moves forward without human verification.
Prepare your space
Add documents, messages and instructions to your secure vault.
Invite the right people
Designate beneficiaries and certifiers. They receive their invitation immediately, wherever they are in the world.
Assign content precisely
Link each file or message to the specific person it is intended for.
Stay in control
Update, refine or change your attributions at any time, with reminders along the way.
A certifier reports
If needed, a certifier reports through the platform.
Validation and transmission
Our team manually verifies, then content is transmitted exactly as you assigned it.
A clear control space
Designed to stay understandable over time
The administration area is designed to help users manage sensitive preparation without feeling lost in complexity. Across the platform, the interface remains structured, calm, and role-aware.
In the administration header
- A role selector lets users switch between owner, certifier, and recipient views when they hold more than one role
- An internal messaging icon gives access to platform messages
- A notifications icon highlights relevant updates and actions
- A profile/menu area gives access to profile settings and sign-out
- A language selector helps users navigate the platform in their preferred language
Product walkthrough
A look inside your secure
space
Designed for clarity, privacy, and peace of mind.

01 · Dashboard
Your overview, at a glance
The dashboard gives the owner a clear overview of their account and preparation status. It brings together the essential profile information, the
active subscription, and key usage indicators in one place.
- View basic profile details such as name, status, addresses, and contact information
- See the current active subscription
- Monitor storage used, contacts used, and pending invitations
02 · Invitations
Invite the right people with clarity
The invitations area is where the owner adds recipients and certifiers. Invitations can be personalized and sent in the preferred contact
language of the person being invited.
- Add a recipient or certifier with first name, last name, and language
- Include a personal note alongside the platform’s default invitation email
- View received invitations and accept or refuse them

03 · Contacts
Keep active roles clearly organized
Once invitations are accepted, contacts appear here with their active
role. This gives the owner a clear view of who is connected to the
account and how each person fits into the continuity process.
- See all active contacts
- IIdentify each person’s role clearly
- Keep relationships and responsibilities easy to understand
04 · Messaging
Communicate within the platform
The messaging area allows users to write to other contacts directly
within the platform. This creates a more structured and secure
communication framework around important coordination.
- Send messages to connected contacts
- Keep communication tied to the platform context
- Support continuity with more clarity

05 · Death report
A controlled process, never an automatic trigger
The death-report area exists to manage a highly sensitive step with care
and control. If the owner is still alive, they can challenge or cancel an
incorrect report. The system also preserves visibility over the report
history.
- Review any existing death-report history
- Allow the owner to cancel a false or incorrect report if still alive
- Reinforce that no transfer happens without manual validation
06 · Subscription
Adjust the plan as needs evolve
The subscription area allows the account holder to manage their plan
with flexibility. Users can upgrade or downgrade their subscription and
add extra capacity when needed.
- Upgrade or downgrade the subscription plan
- Downgrades take effect at the next renewal date
- Add account add-ons when additional capacity is needed

07 · File manager
Organize files with structure and intention
The file manager helps the owner organize documents in a way that
remains understandable later. Files can be grouped into folders and
subfolders, then linked to the people they are intended for.
- Create folders, subfolders, and nested subfolders
- Attach individual files or entire categories to specific contacts
- Build a more structured and meaningful archive over time
Operational safeguards
Important details behind the experience
Some essential protections happen quietly in the background. They are part of what makes
the platform feel more serious, more trustworthy, and more dependable over time.
01
Role reminders
Certifiers may receive reminder emails over time so they remember their role and what they may need to do if the owner dies.
02
Invitation clarity
Invitations are designed to be understandable from the beginning, including the role involved and any personal message added by the owner.
03
Manual oversight
Sensitive actions such as death reporting are never treated as automatic technical triggers. Human review remains part of the safeguard process.
04
Preparation that can evolve
Owners can revisit, adjust, and refine what they prepare over time as circumstances, relationships, or priorities change.
Begin with care
Preparation is one of the clearest forms of care.
Prepare what matters with more structure, protection, and intention.
